Health Card Traffic Plan Enhanced

lorenoGENERAL SANTOS CITY (January 15, 2016) – Dr. Washington G. Loreno, the newly appointed City Health Officer of the city, spearheaded the re-routing scheme of health certificate new and renewal applications from queuing to profiling, from payment to laboratory processes and from printing of final health card to releasing.

In December 2015, Dr. Loreno, a graduate of master’s in public health, instructed the information technology division of the City Health Office to establish the new flow of traffic to decongest the current setup. Generally, there are more or less 400 applications being processed on a daily basis. With this number and without a systematic streamlining of traffic, the operation may be disarrayed. With Dr. Loreno’s enhanced process flow, decongestion and orderly routing are expected.

The new flow will start at the entry point located at the back door or the west wing of the office where the three desktop computers for profiling are located. Applicants will proceed to the cash receipts division placed near the main entrance of the office. They will be seated properly at the lobby area while awaiting for their turns. After payments are made, applicants will then exit through the hygiene clinic in the east end of the office near the General Santos City Hospital.

The applicants will turn-in their specimen at the laboratory window outside the CHO to allow them to exit right away as they are already outside the main health office. Releasing is expected to be done at the lobby’s windows where applicants need not go inside the office to lessen the number of people within.
